What is Coaching?

 

Coaching is a professional relationship in which the coach helps the client to clarify his or her specific strengths and goals.  Coaching focuses on the client taking action toward leading a more meaningful, balanced, and fulfilled life.

 

What can I expect from my coaching session?

The typical coaching session is fifty minutes and can by conducted in person or by telephone.  The agenda of each session is set by the client and can include anything from brainstorming options for a new career, to finding balance at work and at home, to designing an effective workout routine, to planning ways to enhance relationships.  The coach helps facilitate progress towards both short and long term goals by acknowledging accomplishments, encouraging forward momentum, challenging the client to stretch beyond self-imposed limits, and holding the client accountable for progress. Most clients report an almost immediate increase in optimism, energy, and sense of self.
