Emily Green, M.S., Ed.S., LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor
Emily is a Licensed Professional Counselor who considers it an
honor that individuals and families allow her to walk with them on
their journey of healing. Emily adopts a humanistic, person-
centered approach, and believes in creating a therapeutic atmosphere
of unconditional trust, acceptance, and safety. Emily conducts
individual, family, and group therapy, with children as young as two
years old through adolescence and adulthood. Areas of specialty
include PTSD and trauma, sexual abuse and family violence,
disrupted or blended family systems, parenting needs, grief and loss,
depression, anxiety, disruptive behavior, and adjustment issues.
Emily earned her M.S. and Ed.S. at Georgia State University and her B.A. in Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Emily is EMDR Certified and is pursuing licensure for Registered Play Therapy. In addition to her time at ASMI, Emily also works in Community Mental Health. Prior to joining ASMI, Emily worked at Odyssey Family Counseling Center and provided individual and family counseling, as well as filial therapy groups for parents and caregivers with the hopes of strengthening the caregiver-child relationship. While at Odyssey, Emily co-facilitated the counseling services for teenage males involved in the Clayton County Drug Court Second Chance Program. Emily completed both her M.S. and Ed.S. internships at SafePath Children’s Advocacy Center, where she received specialized training and experience working with survivors of sexual abuse, family violence, trauma, and neglect. These experiences and others have reaffirmed Emily’s commitment to fostering a therapeutic relationship characterized by safety and trust.
