 Iyajoke is a Georgia State University Doctoral Student practicing

 under the supervision of Institute Director and Licensed

 Psychologist, Rebecca Beaton, Ph.D.  Iyajoke has both a

 Master’s and Specialist Degrees in Professional Counseling from 

 Georgia State University.  In addition, she earned a Bachelor’s

 degree in Business Administration from Florida A&M

 University.   As a Licensed Professional Counselor

 (#LPC004532 – legal name Krista Thomas) and Mediator

 registered with the State Supreme Court (#2955), Iyajoke

 specializes in working with women in group and individual

 therapy.  Through her work, she has provided counseling as an

 addictions, parenting, group, and rape crisis counselor.  Her work includes non-profit (Pasadena Y.W.C.A and My Sister’s House), private (The Anxiety & Stress Management Institute, Community Counseling Solutions, and The Atlanta Center for Family Wellness), judicial (Landlord-Tenant Magistrate Court), hospital (The Atlanta VA), and university (Georgia State University Counseling Center) settings. 

In addition, Iyajoke has over nine years of experience as a trainer in the corporate field.  This valuable background has enabled her to facilitate numerous workshops with topics including group dynamics, diversity awareness, leadership, and teamwork. She designs and implements leadership development, team building, personal growth, and ropes courses. Her work in this area includes corporate (Coca-Cola and Scientific Atlanta), non-profit (The Wholistic Stress Control Institute), institutional (Georgia State University and Atlanta Public Schools), and college student (Emory and Mercer University) groups.

Iyajoke is a sought after speaker and workshop presenter.  She has led continuing education workshops (The Association of Black Psychologists–ABpsi–and The Anxiety & Stress Management Institute), presented at scholarly conferences (Georgia Psychological Association, The Association for the Study of Classical African Civilizations, and ABpsi), and led workshops (Tavis Smiley’s Road to Health Expo and Queen Afua’s City of Wellness Tour).

Iyajoke currently works as a psychotherapist doing individual and group therapy.  She facilitates a host of teambuilding events and workshops for both corporate and non-profit organizations.  In addition, she works as a child and family evaluator providing assessment services for the Division of Family and Children Services.  Currently, Iyajoke is completing her doctoral studies in Counseling Psychology at Georgia State University.

Iyajoke is a board member of the Georgia Psychological Association’s Division-F (Women’s Division) and a member of the Association of Black Psychologists.
