Approach
Jennie’s approach is optimistic and holistic. She focuses on the value and uniqueness of each person while working with them to realize their potential for healing and growth. She believes in treating the whole person by using various therapeutic interventions. Her therapeutic process integrates the theoretical modalities of psychodynamic, analytic, and existential psychotherapy while using cognitive-behavioral interventions and hypnotherapy for symptom relief. She incorporates a mindfulness approach that enhances self-awareness. Her practice of meditation for over 15 years is based on the concepts developed by Jon-Kabat-Zinn. As a client you will have an opportunity to gain understanding and insight into coping mechanisms and habits that may not useful anymore. Questions like ‘ why do I always end up feeling like this’ become more answerable. Jennie works with each client on recognizing how these coping behaviors originated and how they can be adapted and improved; this is achieved by mobilizing their own strengths and resources. Jennie sees adults experiencing depression, anxiety, life transitions, grief and loss.
