Liza Reed, M.S., LAPC, NCC
Associate Professional Counselor
Liza Reed is an Associate Professional Counselor (GA License #
APC003224) and a National Certified Counselor, having received her
Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Barry University
in Miami, FL.
Liza adheres to a strength-based, collaborative approach to therapy,
where it is known that each person's inherent strengths may not always
be easily recognized in times of struggle, but can be rediscovered
through the therapeutic process. With couples and families Liza believes
that a "problem" is not caused by one individual, but rather an ineffective pattern in the relationship that causes suffering. Part of treatment with a couple or family will be to examine the system and change patterns within the relationship. Liza is adept in using numerous methodologies, but mainly uses Solution-Focused and Narrative Therapy to help harness each individual's existing strengths and skills to promote positive change.
Liza has worked with an extensive array of couples, families, and individuals of all ages. She has worked in community mental health, private non-profit, and psychiatric residential treatment facilities. She specializes in, and has experience with, relationship issues, anxiety disorders, depression, psychosis, substance abuse, and behavioral issues.
