Intensive Outpatient Program - Phase I (IOP-I):
It would be unfair to call our Intensive Outpatient Program - Phase I just a program. More specifically what we offer is an all-inclusive program that includes multiple levels. Our IOP-I starts with a very extensive initial evaluation process which you can read more about by clinking on the initial evaluation link. If we determine that the IOP-I fits your needs best, you will begin treatment as soon as possible. The IOP-I is the first step in a 3-step process that will end in recovery from your eating disorder. You will begin by going through a month program that will include group therapy, family therapy, individual therapy, supervised meals, medication management, and nutritional therapy. All of this is covered under the cost of the program. The IOP-I will last 18-20 hours per week beginning at 3:00 everyday Monday-Friday. Group therapy includes Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), relaxation/mindfulness, supervised meals and meal processing, Body Acceptance, Family Therapy, General Processing, Psychoeducation, Nutrition therapy, Positive Focus, Goal Setting, Anxiety and Stress Management, Weekend Planning, and Psychodrama. Individual therapy, program materials, and medication management by our psychiatrist or your own personal psychiatrist is also included at no extra cost. At the end of the month there will be a team meeting between you, your family (if appropriate), your individual therapist, and another staff member of your choice. During this meeting we will discuss your progress and what future direction should be taken. There may be a recommendation for a continuation of the IOP-I or a move to the next phase of care which is our Intensive Outpatient Program - Phase II (IOP-II).
Intensive Outpatient Program - Phase II (IOP-II):
Our Intensive Outpatient Program - Phase II is an offshoot of our IOP-I. Because we believe that the services offered by our IOP-I show the best efficacy in the treatment of eating disorders it wouldn’t make sense to change what works. For this reason, our IOP- II is of the same format as the IOP-I with one exception. Instead of the 18-20 hour per week program, the IOP-II will be 9-10 hours per week. During the meeting at the end of the IOP-I treatment or during the initial evaluation, a determination will be made as to which groups and/or individual therapy would be best suited for you. You will then attend those therapy sessions for one month. At the completion of that month we will discuss your progress and what future direction should be taken. There may be a recommendation for a continuation of the IOP-II, more intensive treatment in the IOP-I, or a move to the final phase of care which is our regular outpatient treatment (Phase III).
