Licensed Professional Counselor

Rachel Warsett is a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist at The Anxiety & Stress Management Institute. She holds a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Georgia State University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Florida. Rachel has experience working with people of all ages from her time at the Division of Medical Psychology at Shands Hospital. She worked with clients presenting with a variety of concerns including OCD, social phobia, eating disorders, depression, and generalized anxiety disorder. She also worked on research projects in the areas of ADHD and executive functioning, sleep and anxiety, and positive psychology. Rachel is a member of the American Counseling Association, Association of Play Therapy, and Chi Sigma Iota (counselor honors society).

Rachel’s therapeutic approach is integrative incorporating Cognitive Behavioral, Adlerian, and Strength-Based therapies. She utilizes creative and expressive techniques from a holistic perspective to emphasize the mind-body connection. In exploring how thoughts impact feelings and behaviors, Rachel empowers clients by providing the tools necessary to handle difficult situations. Rachel focuses on the unique individual, discovering the strengths that each person develops in order to bring about positive change and to help others realize their potential. Rachel believes that the past holds an important influence on each person, and learning about the connection to the past can provide insight into the people we are today. Rachel works collaboratively with clients from an empathic, respectful, and accepting place valuing the therapeutic relationship and the process. Rachel is genuinely concerned with improving the lives of others and is dedicated to the journey with each client.

 Rachel’s areas of interest include: anxiety, adjustment difficulties/life transitions, depression, OCD, stress management, family and relational issues, grief and loss, and play therapy. She works with children, adolescents, and adults.
